Madrid, 1 jun (EFEverde).- La Universidad Veracruzana (México), la Plataforma de Mujeres Artistas contra la Violencia de Género y EFEverde, la plataforma global de periodismo ambiental de EFE, figuran entre los galardonados con los Premios “Ones Mediterrània” 2010 que, desde hace 16 años, otorga la veterana ONG catalana.
La Universidad Veracruzana de México ha recibido el reconocimiento “Mare Terra” por su labor de “anexar el mundo académico y social” impulsando investigaciones e iniciativas para la “preservación y conservación de la biodiversidad y propiciando transformaciones sociales” dentro y fuera de las fronteras. mexicanas, argumentan.
Plataforma Global de Periodismo Ambiental de EFE
En el caso de EFEverde, el premio “Ones Mediterrània”, se otorga en la categoría de Difusión y Sensibilización, por la “acertada idea” de la Agencia EFE de “poner la innovación tecnológica al servicio del periodismo ambiental, consiguiendo la apuesta más ambiciosa en información medioambiental en el contexto de los medios de comunicación latinoamericanos”.
La Plataforma de Mujeres Artistas contra la Violencia de Género, que encabeza la cantante Cristina del Valle, recibirá el premio “Foca Mediterrània” por sus 13 años de trabajo para poner fin a la violencia y a la discriminación de género que sufren las mujeres, dando voz a las víctimas, defendiendo los derechos humanos y haciendo una gran labor de concienciación.
Además el jurado de estos galardones acordó otorgar el premio Ones de Cooperación y Solidaridad a la Federación Española Banco de Alimentos; el premio de Defensa del Patrimonio Natural, al veterano naturalista extremeño Jesús (Suso) Garzón, así como el Premio Tecnologías Limpias a la Red Catalana por un Futuro sin Nucleares.
Finalmente la mención especial del jurado ha sido para el Gobierno de Cantabria y la Fundación Naturaleza y Hombre, cuyo objetivo es contribuir a la conservación de áreas naturales de interés ecológico.
Entre los ganadores de anteriores ediciones de los premios Ones destacan Ernesto Cardenal (Nicaragua), Joaquín Araujo, UICN Mesoamérica, Federico Mayor Zaragona, Oceana Europa, Revista Quercus o Médicos sin Fronteras.EFE
