En la firma han participado la consejera de Sanidad de la Xunta de Galicia, Rocío Mosquera, la directora Relaciones Institucionales de Novartis, Concepción Marzo Carpio, y la directora del área de Market Access de Novartis en España, Raquel García Gordon.

Y es que, más de 1,3 millones de gallegos tienen una enfermedad crónica y medio millón sufren más de dos dolencias. Además, los pacientes crónicos acaparan el 80 por ciento de las consultas, el 60 por ciento de las altas médicas y el 70 por ciento del gasto hospitalario en Galicia.

El creciente envejecimiento de la población deriva en un aumento de las enfermedades crónicas y de los pacientes pluripatológicos, por lo que la Consejería gallega tiene como objetivo centrarse en el paciente, reorientándolo hacia la gestión integrada de enfermedades crónicas y bajo un enfoque de gestión por procesos que redunde en “mejores” resultados clínicos, la adherencia a los tratamientos, la responsabilidad del paciente con su enfermedad y la mejora de la calidad de vida.

ACUERDOS DE SERGAS

Ante esta situación, el SERGAS establece acuerdos con entidades e instituciones públicas o privadas en relación a la cronicidad, que están orientadas a la promoción de la investigación y la formación científico-técnica. “La estrategia SERGAS 2014 establece una serie de líneas de acción prioritarias en relación con la cronicidad”, ha comentado Mosquera.

En este sentido, la consejera ha aseverado que las prioridades que tienen son la promoción de la salud y la prevención de los problemas crónicos de salud; la transformación organizativa orientada a garantizar la continuidad asistencial; la atención a pacientes pluripatológicos y/o polimedicados; el impulso a los autocuidados a través de la Escuela Gallega de Salud para Ciudadanos; el desarrollo de la gestión por procesos, especialmente en las patologías más prevalentes; la mejora de la formación y la capacitación de los profesionales y el buen uso de los medicamentos”. Todo ello con la finalidad de mejorar la atención y el servicio de salud a los pacientes.
