La auxiliar de enfermería infectada por ébola e ingresada por el virus este lunes en el hospital de Alcorcón llevaba una semana con fiebre. Según testigos presenciales, la paciente acudió por la mañana al servicio de urgencias del mencionado protegida con una mascarilla. Allí, en el llamado triaje, (entrevista en la que el personal del hospital decide qué grado de urgencia requiere cada paciente) explicó que llevaba una semana con fiebre y que se encontraba muy mal.

También contó que llevaba la mascarilla por prevención ya que había estado en contacto con los enfermos de ébola tratados en el Carlos III. Precisamente, según este testimonio, el domingo llamó al Carlos III para comentar su estado por si pudieran atenderla de urgencias (es el centro de referencia para casos de ébola y donde ella misma había tratado a los dos pacientes fallecidos por la enfermedad). La respuesta fue negativa según desvelan las fuentes consultadas por LD. Al no disponer de servicio de urgencias, recomendaron a la auxiliar de enfermería que, de encontrarse peor, acudiera a su centro de referencia, en este caso al hospital de Alcorcón. Así lo hizo alertando al personal que podría padecer ébola y con síntomas como fiebre, diarrea y hemorragias.

Tras el triaje, el personal de urgencias del Hospital de Alcorcón decidió aislar a la paciente en un box. Sin embargo, testigos presenciales confiesan a Libertad Digital que los familiares de la paciente entraron y salieron varias veces del box sin protección alguna. También el personal médico, incluido el encargado de hacer las extracciones para el análisis, que no iba protegido. En este sentido, tan sólo un enfermero se vistió con bata verde, mascarilla y guantes para tratar a la enferma. Este “protocolo” se mantuvo hasta el primer positivo por ébola, cuando comenzaron a verse los facultativos con los trajes especiales entrando y saliendo del box.
