La Facultad de Ciencias y Tecnologías Químicas en el Campus de Ciudad Real celebra este jueves y este viernes el VIII Simposio de Ciencia Joven, una iniciativa impulsada por jóvenes investigadores del centro con el objetivo de dar a conocer a la comunidad universitaria sus trabajos científicos, discutir sus resultados y acercar a los estudiantes a la tarea investigadora.

A lo largo del encuentro, que ha inaugurado el rector de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), Miguel Ángel Collado, 17 jóvenes descubrirán ante el casi centenar de personas inscritas la “verdadera actividad científica” que se realiza en la Facultad de Químicas, ha informado la UCLM en nota de prensa.
Sin duda, tal y como indicó Javier Martínez, investigador en formación y miembro del comité organizar, una “gran oportunidad” para quienes ahora dan sus primeros pasos en la tarea investigadora y para visualizar ante la sociedad que “la ciencia sigue siendo importante, pese a los momentos de dificultad económica, y que debemos agarrarnos a ella para salir de esta situación”.
En esta línea ha insistido el rector de la UCLM, quien ha indicado que estas jornadas no vienen sino a reafirman la convicción universitaria de la importancia que tiene la investigación y a revindicar la necesidad de adoptar las medidas financieras oportunas para su desarrollo.
Igualmente, el máximo responsable de la institución académica ha puesto en valor el esfuerzo realizado por los organizadores para llevar a cabo esta iniciativa, “simbiosis perfecta y ejemplo de la solidaridad intergeneracional que existe entre profesionales consolidados y jóvenes investigadores para asegurar el desarrollo de la ciencia.
“Los jóvenes aportan energía, atrevimiento, entusiasmo y nuevas ideas, pero esto no es válido si a su lado no están los seniors que aportan su experiencia y su visión a largo plazo” ha dicho el rector, quien además ha valorado el compromiso de estos últimos por seguir apoyando y animando a quienes ahora se inician en la tarea investigadora.
Precisamente, el decano de la Facultad de Ciencias y Tecnologías Químicas, Ángel Ríos, presente también en la inauguración, ha explicado que jornadas como éstas ayudan a los investigadores noveles y seniors a “estimularnos mutuamente en nuestro trabajo”.
En su intervención, el decano ha recordado que la misión principal de las universidades es ofrecer una formación de calidad, si bien recordó que el prestigio las da la investigación y la transferencia de conocimiento a la sociedad y a las empresas. “La investigación en nuestra Facultad ha sido, es y debe seguir siendo un valor fundamental, que debemos apostar y defender todos, de arriba abajo”, ha dicho el decano.
Las exposiciones de los doctorandos se complementarán con las ponencias que ofrecerán Francisco Jiménez Colmenero, profesor de Investigación del Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología de los Alimentos y Nutrición; Jesús García Gómez, ingeniero de Investigación y Desarrollo en Repsol y profesor asociado en el Departamento de Ingeniería Química de la UCLM; y Jesús Alberto Escarpa Miguel, profesor de Química Analítica de la Universidad de Alcalá.
Además, la Real Sociedad Española de Química aprovechará este encuentro para presentar ante los participantes su sección territorial.
